First, could you give me a nutshell description of Surge Communications and what you offer … plus your official title?
Surge Communications, Innovations & Online Services, or Surge, is a full-service marketing, advertising and online services agency. We work with business clients both big and small as well as non-profit and government organizations. We offer traditional marketing, advertising and media management, as well as digital and online services such as digital advertising and website development and maintenance. We also provide printing and signage and strive to be a one-stop shop for all clients. By working out of home offices and other cost-saving measures, Surge saves clients both time and money, while providing superior service. My title is President and Owner.
What would you consider the top 5 marketing “musts” for any business?
An online presence is going to continue to be vital. First, make sure you have a website. All businesses and organizations, big and small should have one. Second, make sure you can be found on internet searches using Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. Third, use digital advertising to lead customers and clients right to your website. This is the best ROI you can find since you are leading potential customers to your virtual door. Fourth, consider using streaming services as these will continue to grow in the field. Surge can meet all your online needs while helping you stay within your budget. Fifth, combine your online services with other traditional, strategic marketing and advertising services to build and upkeep your brand identity. Having a strong brand identity will help you stand out in your field.
Are there any particular challenges or opportunities you see within your field for the year?
The industry will continue to see a matter of supply and demand—on-demand specifically. People will continue to turn online for both information and entertainment. Both digital ads and streaming services will continue to be a source where businesses and organizations will be able to find their target audiences. Providing online, and traditional and branding development services to businesses and organizations while providing great service is an opportunity that Surge welcomes!
Finally, what question should I be asking about how to best use marketing as a business tool… and could you answer that!
I am thinking you are asking me and this will not be in the article, correct? 🙂 If so, I would ask other agencies/resources, etc. about cost for services—businesses and organizations may want to market and advertise but they aren’t able to because the cost of doing so is way outside their budget. Providing great service at a fair, competitive price to all businesses and organizations is important, but especially for smaller, local and even struggling businesses that may be feeling the affects of the economy, etc. Helping those organizations is just as important as serving other bigger businesses and corporations and the like that have big budgets.
